This description is based on the Rider Waite deck. There is a great feeling of celebration in this card. Four tall wands form an archway. You sense that once you walk through, everything will change for the better. Two people wave at oncoming guests, welcoming you to the party. In the background women with flower garlands on their heads are dancing. There is also a large castle, a symbol of structure and stability. Perhaps this castle is where you will spend the night. There is a dreamlike quality to this card which reminds me of the play A Midsummer’s Night Dream. This day will pass, but it is one that will be remembered.

The meaning of this card will depend on whether or not you are in a relationship. Here are some highlights:
❤️ If you asked will I find love? then the answer is, yes. You could meet your future partner at a wedding, or a party or through family. When this card turns up, you are unlikely to meet someone online or randomly. More likely, love will come through connections with people in your extended network.
❤️ If you have just met someone, this card confirms that this could be the one you marry. If you are meeting their family or friends, then everything will go well.
❤️ You are engaged and making wedding plans. Ideally you will marry in a location that feels like ‘home’.

TIMING: Does The Four of Wands Predict any Particular Timeframe?
🕔 The 4 of Wands is only a timing indication when you specifically asked a timeframe question. For example, if you want to know if something will happen, and when, then you need to draw two separate cards. These are in fact, two separate questions. This is a fundamental principle and core to my teaching in my book Tarot in 5 Minutes.
🕔 Using my timing method, the 4 of Wands is about 4 weeks. If the card is reversed, timing will be slightly longer – so up to 6 weeks.

What is the Meaning of The 4 of Wands Reversed?
When the Four of Wands is reversed then there is still a lot of positivity. However, the fun or joy may be slightly subdued. This could be because:
✔️ The reason to celebrate is still good, but not as good as you hoped.
✔️An event does not go off hitch-free, but overall is still very enjoyable.
✔️ Someone is missing from the celebrations or good news and this makes you sad.
✔️ You are coming down from a high, like a great vacation or wedding, and now it’s back to ‘ordinary’ life.
✔️Other keywords associated a reversal include: partying too hard, estrangement and thoughtlessness.
