The Chariot Tarot Card Description
This description is based on the Rider Waite Tarot Deck. Historically, the Chariot is depicted as a vehicle drawn by two animals, one black and one white, signifying opposing forces. Here we see a valiant prince pulled by a black and white sphinx in his chariot. He holds no reins, suggesting that he must use willpower and focus to keep his steeds moving together and in the same direction.
When this card shows up in a reading, it means you are triumphing over problems, and the worst is behind you. Those problems could be anything to do with struggling to get a business off the ground, finding a job or passing your college degree. It could also be more personal, like healing a relationship or achieving health goals.
The Chariot represents overcoming barriers which stand in your way. You are racing now towards your goals.
Other keywords associated with this card: confidence, taking charge, pulling it all together, personal victory, new venture, feeling ready, winning attitude.
What Zodiac Sign is The Chariot?
Cancer is the star sign assigned to the Chariot Tarot card. Cancer is associated with home and family, which at first glance does not seem in the spirit of the forceful Chariot card. However, our prince travels out in the world to experience worldly success. Why? Perhaps to provide for his family, or to make loved ones proud. He is motivated, to a certain degree, by the need to impress people, or at least to prove to them who he is capable of being. This is the man who leaves his homeland a nobody, and returns as a triumphant prince.
The Moon is the planet assigned to the Chariot Tarot card. The moon changes daily, and lunar movements are known to affect events on Earth. This signifies that you should remain focused, yet responsive to sudden change.
In astrology, Cancer rules the fourth house of family and where you grew up. It rules parents, grandparents and family traditions.
The Chariot card corresponds to the element water.

TIMING: Does The Chariot Predict any Particular Timeframe?
🕔 This card is only a timing indication when you specifically asked a timeframe question. For example, if you want to know if something will happen, and when, then you need to draw two separate cards. These are in fact, two separate questions. This is a fundamental principle to understand if you want an accurate tarot reading – and it is core to my teaching in my book Tarot in 5 Minutes.
🕔 The Chariot card represents June 22 to July 23. If the card is reversed, timing will be longer – perhaps up to a year later, same date.
